California's first Licensed Midwife Associate of Science degree program

Community Information Sessions

In the Fall of 2024, CAM identified Cerro Coso as the pilot community college to house California's first Licensed Midwife Associate of Science degree program.

As we continue ahead toward the program's anticipated launch in Fall 2026, you may attend one of our community information sessions to learn more about the program, what it takes to become a licensed midwife, and the growing need for midwives and midwives of color to help address maternal health outcomes in the state of California.

The Cerro Coso Licensed midwife Associate of Science degree program is designed to be:

  • Affordable: Total cost is approximately $4,000 in fees for California residents; scholarship and grant opportunities are available to further reduce costs
  • Accessible: Hybrid learning with up to two skills labs per semester
  • Essential: Aimed at addressing the shortage of community midwives and the critical need for more BIPOC midwives

Click on the date icon to register for our community sessions, which are being held both onsite or on zoom. After you register, you will be notified of the venue location when it becomes available. Prerecorded sessions will also be added as they are produced.
